Bengal test
Rose Bengal stained acidified buffered antigen for serological diagnosis of brucellosis by rapid slide agglutination.
Concentrated suspension of Brucells abourtus (weybride stain 99) inactivated by heat and phenol 0.5% dispensed in an acid buffer and stained by Rose Bengal.
Indication:
Serological diagnosis of brucellosis caused by Brucells →Malitensis
Abourtus
Suis
By rapid slide agglutination.
Sera and antigen stored between + 2ĉ and 8 ĉ are placed at room temperature for 30 -60 minutes before use.
Procedure:
1. Place a 25 - 30µl drop of each serum under test on to the plate.
2. Shake the vial of antigen gently and put an equal volume beside each of the sera.
3. Carefully blend the antigen and the serum.
4. Shake slowly at room temperature and read results 4 minutes later.
Result:
No agglutination absence of antibodies.
Agglutination (even slight) presence of antibodies.
